A transformation of an unused spare bedroom in a busy family home into a sound proof music room for a very talented drummer. It was important that this room still felt part of the house without feeling too commercial.
Acoustics were at the forefront of every aspect of the design process so that the space could operate as a recording studio and to reduce the noise from the rest of the home.
David Bowie was an inspiration for this retro glam rock vibe seen in the jewel like colour palette, the flame paisley thick velvet curtains and the blazer striped blinds.
Joinery was added to house the amps and decks. Floating shelving was installed above to showcase his vintage records which doubles up as a revolving gallery.
Colour was injected with the burnt orange thick pile carpet, denim blue walls and pops of accent colours seen in the revolving mustard velvet chair.
